EBU veraai webinar provided by Ontotext: working with already debunked content

On 26 March 2025, the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) hosted the 6th edition of the webinar series in which selected vera.ai approaches and outcomes are presented. This one focused on Ontotext's work that concentrates on archiving and navigating through content that has already been debunked previously.

In the fight against disinformation, it is of great importance for verification professionals to not only have access to existing verification data but also to be able to study and derive insights from it.

This webinar discussed Ontotext's work on exploring archived and previously debunked content in their system which is called the ‘Database of Known Fakes’. It involves a range of AI-based search functionalities, such as a chatbot assistant that “talks” to the database and skillfully leverages various query methods to unearth verification content for users.

Below, you can view a recording of the entire session, including corresponding slides.
