MAD'23 at ACM ICMR 2023

From 12-15 June 2023, the ACM International Conference on Multimedia Retrieval (ACM ICMR 2023) takes place in Thessaloniki, Greece. The topical focus of the conference, lasting over four days, hosted in Greece's second-largest city Thessaloniki, lies on various facets of multimedia retrieval and related fields.

The ACM ICMR 2023 conference is accompanied by a number of workshops. One of these is the 2nd ACM International Workshop on Multimedia AI against Disinformation (MAD’23), scheduled to take place on 12 June 2023 (date to be confirmed).

The MAD'23 workshop, in turn, is organised and hosted by the AI4Media (“A European Excellence Centre for Media, Society and Democracy”) project and our own vera.ai. In the organising committee, among other distinguished experts, are vera.ai's Luca Cuccovillo of Fraunhofer's Institute for Digital Media Technology IDMT and ITI-CERTH's Symeon Papadopoulos.

Call for Papers

The organisers have published a “Call for Papers” dealing with - but not limited to - the following topics:

  • Disinformation detection in multimedia content (e.g., video, audio, texts, images)
  • Multimodal verification methods
  • Synthetic and manipulated media detection
  • Multimedia forensics
  • Disinformation spread and effects in social media
  • Analysis of disinformation campaigns in societally-sensitive domains
  • Robustness of media verification against adversarial attacks and real-world complexities
  • Fairness and non-discrimination of disinformation detection in multimedia content
  • Explaining disinformation /disinformation detection technologies for non-expert users
  • Temporal and cultural aspects of disinformation
  • Dataset sharing and governance in AI for disinformation
  • Datasets for disinformation detection and multimedia verification
  • Open resources, e.g., datasets, software tools
  • Multimedia verification systems and applications
  • System fusion, ensembling and late fusion techniques
  • Benchmarking and evaluation frameworks
